This is a list of notable people from Puerto Rico which includes people who were born in Puerto Rico (Borinquen), people who are of full or partial Puerto Rican background.
It should be noted that the Government of Puerto Rico has been issuing "Certificates of Puerto Rican Citizenship" to anyone born in Puerto Rico or to anyone born outside of Puerto Rico with at least one parent who was born in Puerto Rico since 2007.
Trees could be seen covering roads, and highway dividers were broken on the route.
Reports indicate that 95 per cent of Puerto Rico’s energy grid is down, and it appears likely that much of the island will remain without power for months to come.
Originally populated by the indigenous Taíno people, the island was claimed in 1493 by Christopher Columbus for Spain during his second voyage.“I was really proud of their quick response,” he added.“The first responders and FEMA have all been outstanding in this crisis, and should be supported.” Rodriguez also had a word of caution for the U. Congress: “Watch out what relief funds you approve and let our local government handle.“For instance, shortly after the hurricane hit, the government imposed a curfew from 6 pm to 6 am and then changed it,” Rodriguez said. The curfew has prevented fuel trucks from transporting their loads.“These trucks should have been allowed to run for 24 hours to address our needs, but they have been stalled, and so we have massive lines at gas stations and severe shortages of diesel at our hospitals and supermarkets.” Rodriguez said it is the federal government that has put forth an organized response, and that it is wrong of Puerto Rico’s own political leaders to blame it.
Don’t let the Puerto Rican government play the victim and fool you.
